Love is Satisfied in God

Characteristics of Love: Love is Satisfied in God

Isaiah 58:11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Isaiah 58:11(GNS) And I will always guide you and satisfy you with good things. I will keep you strong and well. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never goes dry.

Introduction: Welcome to another week as Scriptures speak to us. We are kept by the Power of God. Responses and questions are appropriated. God bless you all.

🙏 As we journey in this life, the Lord will continually guide and satisfy our desires in Jesus name.

📎 The 21st characteristic of God’s kind of Love this week is: Love is satisfied in God.

🎶 I’m satisfied in Jesus,  I’m satisfied in Him, My faith in Him will never fail, I’m satisfied in Jesus 🎶

Anyone with God’s kind of Love will surely be satisfied in all circumstances.

Looking unto God in righteousness at all times and situations brings satisfaction each day we awake.

Psalm 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

🛑 Worldly or valentine’s love is characterised by insatiable life and always having desire to acquire more even what is not needed, called covetousness. It always ends in vanity.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

🛑 No one with God’s kind of Love battles with depression or commits suicide for any situations of life. He/she receives strength in all circumstances.

Hear Apostle Paul during his lifetime as Christian;

Philippians 4:12-13(NLT) I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

❓Can we also boldly say that in our walk with God?

Most times we are seen with excitement when things go right according to plans but when things go wrong, there will be delusion of faith in God, with reluctance to fellowship with God and backsliding is inevitable. This is when a supposed child of God follows after the dictates of flesh or Human nature away from the Spirit of God.

🛑 Only a man with God’s kind of Love continues in the ways of God when things go wrong because he/she knows God will make what is wrong to be right according to His words.

Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

❓Are you in need and getting discouraged as a child of God?

Don’t follow worldly counsels that originate from the prince of this world, i.e. the devil. Hear God’s promise for His chosen ones

Joel 2:26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. Our text today also states God’s promises for His chosen ones;

Isaiah 58:11(GNS) And I will always guide you and satisfy you with good things. I will keep you strong and well. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never goes dry.

Looking at circumstances and situations can shake faith in God concerning His promises. That is why Christians must continuously look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Remember when followers of Christ were hungry in the wilderness and the Lord expressed His compassionate feelings to His Disciples, but seeing the impossible situation of feeding the multitude, the disciples of Jesus asked Him a serious question on how to satisfy the multitude of people in the wilderness.

Mark 8:4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?

But all Jesus Christ needed was to give thanks to God for the seven loaves which was multiplied to feed the multitude and there was still extra food.

Mark 8:5-8(NLT) Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?”“Seven loaves,” they replied. So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to his disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd. A few small fish were found, too, so Jesus also blessed these and told the disciples to distribute them. They ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food.

Looking at situations in the wilderness of life can bring depression but giving thanks to God for what He has done, believing His words that we study regularly brings satisfaction in all circumstances.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Are you satisfied in God for what you have? If yes, then God’s love is in you and you will lack nothing.

🛑 As Christians, It is possible to forget God and be lackadaisical in His service when we are full or in possession of good things of life thinking it’s by our power. His love in times of plenty is usually substituted by worldly love.

Hear God’s warning to His children;

Deuteronomy 8:10-13 10 When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the lord your God for the good land he has given you. “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today. For when you have become full and prosperous and have built fine homes to live in,  and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful!

❓What practical steps are we to take as we walk in love this week?

▶️ Be intentional this week about making a time to pray and read your Bible. Try reading a chapter out of Proverbs each day (there are thirty-one—a full month’s supply), or reading a chapter in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). As you do, immerse yourself in the love and promises God has for you. This will add to your growth as you walk with Him.

✍ Finally brethren, God’s kind of Love comes with contentment while worldly love is associated with insatiable attitude that propels yielding to temptations and ends in destruction.

1 Timothy 6:6-10 (NLT) Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.  After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.  So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.  For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

✋ Maranatha.
