Satan in the house

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:4(NLT) I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Introduction: Calvary greetings to all. We thank God for seeing another week of Speaking Scriptures. Manna from Heaven will not cease in our lives in Jesus name.

Knowing that Devil has plans for every child of God, It is important for us to be aware and  conscious of the truth that Satan and his agents are present in the Church.

We often think that where the name of Jesus is called, satanic agent will not be present but the truth is, they are  present but they are disabled to perform evil until they find opportune time.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

True children of God should not be afraid or distracted by the presence of  Satanic agents because Scriptures speak in Job 5:12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

We confirm that Satan had been roaming around Job’s family to perpetrate evil but his hands could not perform his enterprise because Job had a right standing with God. Let us hear what he told God  in Job 1:7-10 (NLT)

“Where have you come from?” the lord asked Satan. Satan answered the lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.” Then the lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.” Satan replied to the lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!

May I boldly tell you that Satan is patrolling your life, home and church, watching everything that’s going on. Eh, do you think secret sins are not known by Satan? Believers and pastors that enjoy pleasures of sin should be aware that Satan watches everything that goes on.

Proverbs 9:17-18 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Unseen Guests from hell are waiting in order to make Christians found in sin a lawful captive. It is only integrity in the service unto God and righteousness through our Lord Jesus Christ that can disable the Devil.

Messages in the Church now are being diluted with enticing words of men. Most times in Christian gatherings, I feel like am in a management class and often reminds me of board room discussions when we were taught strategies to win customers in competitive business world.

Brethren, I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Satan is in the house to shift our focus from God’s purpose.

Paul warned Timothy in 2 Timothy 3, You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

It is true that God frustrates Devil’s schemes so that his work will not succeed in our lives. Bible clearly stated in Isaiah 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. BUT it is when we do not  give Devil opportunity to expose us to sinful life and manipulate us.

That is why we need to know “SATAN IS IN THE HOUSE” and deny him opportunity to perform his enterprise. God will frustrate evil schemers in our lives if we do not give Satan opportunity.

7 Reasons why we must know Satan is in the house

1️⃣ We must be aware that Satan and his agents are around waiting for opportunity to strike-

Luke 4:13 (NLT) When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.

Satan is also waiting for opportunity to deal with us. Be prepared always.

2️⃣ When we are aware of his presence, we will not allow him to find something in us for accusation. Satan is watching and looking for his attributes or property in us so as to strike. Satan’s attributes such as lying and properties such as what is stolen or acquired illegally. That is why Jesus said in;

John 14:30; Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
❓Do you have Satan’s attributes or properties? You still have hope if you can renounce and denounce him now.

Proverbs 9:17-18(NLT)  talked about those who commit adultery and fornication; “Stolen water is refreshing; food eaten in secret tastes the best!” But little do they know that the dead are there.  Her guests are in the depths of the grave. 
As pleasures of adultery and fornication in secret are being enjoyed, guest from hell are watching to act without restriction even from God!!!

3️⃣ We need to be aware that Satan is in the house so that we will not sleep spiritually

Matt 13:25 says; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.

❓What is your level of relationship with God? How is your bible study and fellowship with other believers? Is Sunday school class boring? Are unbelievers your acquaintances? What is your level of involvement in the Church of God? When we sleep spiritually, Satan is around to sow evil in order to make Christian life unbearable thereby enslaving us

4️⃣ There is need to know that Satan is present to put us under bondage again so as to control our lives even as Christians 

Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Satan has agents among us to ensure that we still remain under his control.

❓Do you still drink alcohol as Christian? Do you find excuse for committing adultery and fornication? Is there any difference between now and your former way of living before you gave your life to Jesus? If there are no difference, then you are still under Satan’s control and bondage.

5️⃣ We need to be conscious of Satan’s presence in this lasts days with new teachings and deception.

2 Timothy 3:1-7(NLT) You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires.(Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.)

Satan enter humanity by deceiving Eve the first woman. Satan is still around to use woman and get us deceived!!!  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 )

6️⃣ We need to know that there are false prophets and teachers among us, to get hold of our money and for destructive purposes and many will follow them.

2 Peter 2:1-3(NLT) But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.  In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

Jesus warned in Matt 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

❓How many prophets have you followed? How many have become your god? How many men of God fasted for you with sacrificial fowls? You are falling into the hands of Satanic agents.

7️⃣ We need to know Satan is in the house so as not to be faint-hearted in fighting against sin.

Hebrews 12:3-4 says; For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 

New Living Translation says;  Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.

We are supposed to fight sin even at the detriment of our lives . Joseph fought fornication that landed him in prison and in obedience to God’s word, God stayed with him in prison. God also stayed with the three Hebrew men in fire as they fought idolatry offered by king Nebuchadnezzar. When you are aware that Satan is around to offer juicy fruits of sin, then you will be prepared to fight sin at all cost.

Brethren, as we continue this Christian journey in this world full of mystery with unexplainable situations,  I again leave you with letter from Peter.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (NLT)  Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.  Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters] [ all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Awareness that Satan is in the house will make us stay alert at all times and be vigilant even in our churches.

Hear the Master Himself in Matthew 24:42-44(NLT) “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.

Brethren, SATAN IS IN THE HOUSE.
