Is Your Christianity Boring?
Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Malachi 3:6(AMP) For I am the Lord, I do not change; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
Introduction: Calvary greetings to all lovers of God. Someone who is thirsty will NOT be bored.
🙏 I pray for continuous thirst for His words in Jesus name.
🤔 Talking about thirst for God’s word, ONLY someone who knows the joy of God’s presence shall without doubt recognize exile or foreign land as a place of bondage and lack of pleasure in comparison to the homeland. Such a person will surely pant or long for home.
For example, Babylon was an exile to Israel, the Chosen of the Lord, and Zion was their Homeland. They were taken to exile in Babylon and wept in their longings for Zion.
Psalms 137:1-3 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
▶️ Anyone that recognises exile will feel sorrowful instead of mirth or laughter, self examination instead of self-praise. Therefore, instruments of praise are hung by the Israelites with the feelings of a wasted life.
Hear the heart of someone in exile outside God’s presence just like the prodigal son away from his father.
Psalms 42:1-2 (AMP) AS THE hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God. My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?
🛑 Every genuine Christian has consciousness that he/she is in exile or is a stranger in this world of iniquities. Hence, genuine Christians with understanding will be longing for and be preparing for the appearance of Jesus Christ in ANY situation on the Earth, either pleasant or unpleasant.
Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Hence, uncompromising Believers hold tightly to Faith in Christ Jesus looking forward to the promised joyful place like Old patriarchs of Faith.
Hebrews 11:13(AMP) These people all died controlled and sustained by their faith, but not having received the tangible fulfillment of [God’s] promises, only having seen it and greeted it from a great distance by faith, and all the while acknowledging and confessing that they were strangers and temporary residents and exiles upon the earth.1
❓Do you see this Earth as an exile and temporary residence? If NOT Christianity is bound to be boring in due course.
🤔 Looking at the physical to illustrate the spiritual, some people who are tired and hopeless in their countries apply for exile in other countries considered to be better off and are ready to become citizens of that country by all means. Christians who get tired of Christian tenets and the narrow path to everlasting life abandon their faith to embrace worldly lifestyles that look more exciting.
2 Timothy 4:10(AMP) For Demas has deserted me for love of this present world and has gone to Thessalonica; Crescens [has gone] to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
❓The Master is asking; Is Your Christianity Boring?
We are to personally and sincerely give the answer to the Saviour if we desire help in this journey.
🧖♂️ I heard from Gen Z generation on the media that Christianity is boring, there is need to add spices to make it more attractive.
▶️ A generation typically refers to groups of people born over a 15-20 year span.
There are 4 groups of generations as at now.
1️⃣ Baby boomers. They are the eldest, born between the years 1946 and 1964.
2️⃣ Generation X. This follows baby boomers, and they were born between 1965 and 1980.
3️⃣ Generation Y. (more commonly known as Millennials) Comes next , born between roughly 1981 and 1994.
4️⃣ Gen Z. Are the youngest generation in today’s workforce, born between 1995 and 2009.
👉 There are surely generational differences in behavioural patterns due to technological changes and advancement coupled with abounding iniquity.
▶️ Check out areas such as music, fashion, marriage, custom, and other lifestyles with obvious differences.
For example, look at fashion style of Gen Z men as they plait hair and put on earing like women. Gen Z women also spice up fashion by putting earrings on tongue, nose and navel, changing colours of hair from natural colour to unnatural ones with eyelashes like umbrella.
🛑 Any Generation that rejects Truth shall be left alone by God to satisfy their affections and passions.
Romans 1:26(AMP) For this reason God gave them over and abandoned them to vile affections and degrading passions. For their women exchanged their natural function for an unnatural and abnormal one.
Also ideas of Gen Z generation concerning marriage are at variance to first two generations. Gen Z generation disdain proper marriage in preference to sodomy, homosexuality and other perversions.
▶️ Scriptures speak about attributes of Gen Z generation in the last days;
2 Timothy 3:1-4 (AMP) BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear]. For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. [They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good. [They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.
🛑 Take time to list out those last days characteristics found in the Scriptures and see what operates among Gen Z generation that do not conform with Christian tenets but now inculcated into the church of God as spices to make the body of Christ exciting.
❓Will there be different judgment by God based on generational differences?
⚠️ NO❗ God will judge everyone by Jesus Christ, the Word that HE sent to the world to show The Way, The Way out, The Way forward and The Way Upward to eternal life.
Romans 2:16(NLT) The day will surely come when God, by Jesus Christ, will judge everyone’s secret life. This is my message.
▶️ The written words known as the Bible or the Scriptures, tried and tested over the Ages contain God’s words by Jesus Christ the ONLY provision for Salvation of Mankind made available to all.
Acts 4:12(NLT) There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.”
▶️ Therefore, Jesus Christ The Judge of all Who changes NOT, will NOT base HIS judgement on generational differences.
Hebrews 13:8 (AMP) Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).
🛑 Older Generations, current Generations or future generations are the same before God.
2 Peter 3:8(AMP) Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape you, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
▶️ All generations will be judged on whether Truth of the words are accepted or rejected.
John 12:48(NLT) But all who reject me and my message will be judged at the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken.
❓What is Truth?
🛑 This same question was asked by Pilate on the day Jesus Christ was crucified.
John 18:37-38 (AMP) Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice. Pilate said to Him, What is Truth? On saying this he went out to the Jews again and told them, I find no fault in Him.
🛑 The question, “What is Truth?” Still lingers on from generation to generation till today.
You will notice that the answer to Pilate’s question; “What is Truth?” was not addressed before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Pilate found NO fault in Jesus Christ yet He was crucified.
🛑 The Truth is found ONLY in the Scriptures as Jesus Christ addressed His Disciples. Hence, ONLY adherent followers of Jesus Christ can find and know the Truth.
John 14:5-6(AMP) Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.
🛑 In all the past, current and future Generations, ONLY the knowledge of TRUTH shall set people free from bondage and abominations of Babylon, that is the Earth, an exile for Christians.
Earth is full of abominations as revealed in the book of revelation.
Revelation 17:1-2:4-5(AMP) ONE OF the seven angels who had the seven bowls then came and spoke to me, saying, Come with me! I will show you the doom (sentence, judgment) of the great harlot (idolatress) who is seated on many waters, [She] with whom the rulers of the earth have joined in prostitution (idolatry) and with the wine of whose immorality (idolatry) the inhabitants of the earth have become intoxicated. The woman was robed in purple and scarlet and bedecked with gold, precious stones, and pearls, [and she was] holding in her hand a golden cup full of the accursed offenses and the filth of her lewdness and vice. And on her forehead there was inscribed a name of mystery [with a secret symbolic meaning]: Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes (idolatresses) and of the filth and atrocities and abominations of the earth.
🛑 ONLY knowledge of Truth can set anyone free from abominations of the Earth with gold and precious things that come with enticement and excitement as revealed in the book of revelation quoted above.
John 8:31-32 (NLT) Jesus said to the people who believed in him, ” You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
⚠️ All Generations must be considerate, using the word of God as the standard of measurement in all undertakings.
Philippians 4:5(NLT) Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
❓Do you know why all generations are inexcusable when God judges by the written words?
▶️ God is aware from the beginning that there will be generational changes before the end of the world. Therefore He clearly instructed the Chosen ones to teach their children from generation to generation on the ancient words and Landmark.
Deuteronomy 4:8-9(AMP) And what large and important nation has statutes and ordinances so upright and just as all this law which I set before you today? Only take heed, and guard your life diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen and lest they depart from your [mind and] heart all the days of your life. Teach them to your children and your children’s children–
🛑 Commitment to God’s words makes Christian parents to use all available arsenal to teach their children from cradle on the word of life by establishing family altar.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NLT) And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again.
✍ Finally brethren, a boring Christian life that requires spices for excitements in any Generation falls into the trap of addition to or subtraction from the Scriptures especially at this end times where ministry has become business venture. The word of God remains unchanged irrespective of generational changes. Availability of the Bible in all forms cost lives of Early apostles and faithful Christians from past generations, therefore, Believers in any generation are inexcusable.
Hear the last statement with from the Bible:
Revelation 22:17-21(NLT) The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let each one who hears them say, “Come.” Let the thirsty ones come—anyone who wants to. Let them come and drink the water of life without charge. And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words of this prophetic book, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book. He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, ” Yes, I am coming soon! ” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.
