📎 The 35th characteristic of God’s kind of Love this week is: Love is accountable
To be accountable is to be responsible for actions taken. Spouses known as lovers are accountable or responsible to each other for action taken and must be prepared to justify their actions before God and their spouses. For example, slapping or cursing your spouse is an action that must be accounted for.
Romans 14:12(NLT) Yes, each of us will have to give a personal account to God.
God’s kind of Love is accountable and His judgment will be based on His words and commandments written for us not on what people say, or based on social media judgment.
For instance, man can applaud you for slapping your spouse who first slapped you. But because we are accountable to God, He will demand explanation from you based on His words at that instance.

Matthew 5:38-39 (GNT) You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But now I tell you: do not take revenge on someone who wrongs you. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, let him slap your left cheek too.
Similarly, man may see nothing wrong in cursing your spouse and children but you are accountable to God based on His words as taught on how Disciples attitude should be.
Matthew 5:22 (NLT) But I say, if you are angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the high council. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.
🛑 Knowing that we are accountable to God, and the love we have for our spouses compels us to be responsible for our actions, then there is need to receive good counsel to succeed in life and marital journey.
Proverbs 20:18 (GNT) Get good advice and you will succeed; don’t go charging into battle without a plan.
Good success in marriage guarantees successful Christian journey. Show me a God fearing family and I will show you successful community and Nation. Charity begins at home.
Proverbs 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
Our text says; Refuse good advice and watch your plans fail; take good counsel and watch them succeed.
❓Knowing that couples are accountable for their actions, where then can Christian couples get good advice and counsel ?
Joshua 1:8 (NLT) Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed.

You can only identify strong Christian or reliable pastor through the word of God.

❓What practical steps are we to take as we walk in love this week?
▶️ Find a marriage mentor—someone who is a strong Christian and who will be honest and loving with you. If you feel that counseling is needed, then take the first step to set up an appointment. During this process, ask God to direct your decisions and discernment.
✍ Finally brethren, having sense of responsibility to God and our spouses propels us to search the Scriptures daily and obey God’s commandments so as to be justified before Him at the end of our Christian race.
