Noise in the Temple

1 Kings 6:7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

1 Kings 6:7(NLT) The stones used in the construction of the Temple were finished at the quarry, so there was no sound of hammer, ax, or any other iron tool at the building site.

Introduction: Calvary greetings to all. The Holy Spirit will teach us and abide with us and our family in Jesus name. This week, we are looking at why there is noise in the Church or Temple of God. Church is supposed to be filled with Christians who surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ.  These are lively stones.

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Now as lively stones, we are to be fitted in the Temple or Church of God.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

❓Why is there noise in the Temple or  Church of God?

Looking at our text, stones to be used in the Temple or Church of God must come from quarry to avoid noise in the Temple or Church of God. In fact, there was no hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

1 Kings 6:7(NLT) The stones used in the construction of the Temple were finished at the quarry, so there was no sound of hammer, ax, or any other iron tool at the building site.

🛑 Therefore, there is quarry where stones are shaped with hammer,  axe, fire, and any other iron tools and there is Temple or Church where finished works on stones are taking to for fitting.

Noise only occurs at quarry, a place where stones are shaped into sizes before they are taken to the Temple.

❓Do you know why there is noise now in the Temple or Church of God?

Several stones ( Christians) have not been to the  quarry but make themselves available in the Temple of God. Stones to be cut to size from quarry and be fitted in the Temple have not been to quarry but create space for themselves in the Temple.

Since there are no tools for shaping in the Temple but quarry, there is bound to be noise in the Temple. A man meant to be cut to size and fitted in the Temple as teacher and has not been in the quarry,  will cause noise as he fixes himself in the Temple as a prophet.

Sometimes ago, some pastors were asked to do pulpit exchange. One pastor started putting financial burden on members claiming to build the parish to the extent that they told their pastor after the exercise if that  pastor is posted on permanent basis,  they will leave the parish. This is noise caused by untrained stone under the quarry of the Holy Spirit but thinks that ministry is about money.

The Holy Spirit works on Christians at the quarry before fixing them in the Temple. Any uncultured and untrained Christians  by the Holy Spirit will cause noise in the Church without perfecting the saints.

Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Looking at history of churches in Nigeria, Orthodox churches started well before the infiltration of stones that were not at the quarry. The presence of stones that had not been to the quarry brought about occultism in the Churches.

Note that Pentecostal churches are  also going the way of  Orthodox now with more occultism and worldly methods in growing the ministry.

There are corrupt and compromising churches today because many stones have not pass through fire at the quarry where Holy Spirit can cut them to sizes fitted for use at the Temple.

🛑 Stones that have been to the quarry are made ready to become vessels unto honour by the Holy Spirit for the work of God in the Temple but stones that have not been to the quarry cause noise and they are vessels of dishonour in the Temple.

2 Timothy 2:20-21 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Christians can only be made ready for the Master’s use at the quarry. Several bloggers on social media speak against the Church of God because of the noise generated by the leadership in the Church that have never been to the quarry.

🛑 The stones that have not been to the quarry but exist in the Temple outnumbered those that have been to the quarry. That is why there is noise in the Temple and the Devil capitalises on this and raised bloggers to run down the Church of God.

Many half-baked Christians are confused and some are leaving the faith while several are lukewarm due to noise in the Temple.

🛑 Quarry is not a place of self-will or pleasure. It is where Christians pass through fire to become precious stones for honourable use in the Temple of God.

❓Have you been to quarry under the Holy Spirit? Can you boldly say you are vessel unto honour in the Temple? Is your attitude causing noise in the body of Christ?

When Christ returns for the church without spot or wrinkles,  only stones from the quarry that are fitted in the Temple will be eligible to go with Jesus Christ.

1 Kings 6:7 (MSG) The stone blocks for the building of The Temple were all dressed at the quarry so that the building site itself was reverently quiet–no noise from hammers and chisels and other iron tools.

Brethren,  in order not to be part of the noise and stand firm in the body of Christ, there is still opportunity to be sharpened by the Holy Spirit while we are alive.
