The Broad and Narrow way
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:13-14(NLT) “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
Introduction: I salute everyone who weekly visits this Blog for spiritual medicine which is life to those that find it necessary for closeness to God.

There are just two ways to an end in life; a way to Eternal life with God and a way to Eternal damnation with the Devil. Therefore, there are only two choices in which a man must choose from; Life which attracts Blessings or Death that attracts curses. God’s appeal to those created in His image is to choose life.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
During the sermon on the Mount with His disciples, Jesus spoke about the two ways to eternity.
Matthew 7:13-14(NLT) “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
🛑 The way that is broad or wide that leads to hell is easy and flooded with many because it is a shortcut to successful life while the narrow way that leads to eternal life with God is difficult and needs attention but few people find it.
Matthew 7:13-14(MSG) “Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life–to God!–is vigorous and requires total attention.
❓Have you been introduced to shortcuts to God? Do you follow easygoing formulas for success in life? How is your walk with God? Is righteousness your standard ìn the journey of life as a Christian? The narrow path is rigorous and requires attention.
Many take Christian life easy now, using dispensation of Grace as liberty to wallow in bondage of sin.
Galatians 5:1,13 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Galatians 5:13(NLT) For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
Narrow path that leads to eternal life with God requires hard work and that is why the Kingdom of God suffers violence from the World, the Flesh and Satan.
Luke 13:24(NLT) “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail.
Successful students work hard on subjects that are difficult just as an athlete rigorously trains his/her body to obtain corruptible price, how much more Christians that strive to obtain incorruptible crown.
1 Corinthians 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
The narrow path to eternal life with God needs concentration, commitment, and determination to find, and to maintain that narrow path otherwise, Christians that started well on the narrow path can easily veered off to the Broadway with majority towards eternal damnation.
Narrow way is what every believer must fight for as we fight against sinful nature which sometimes comes with pain.
Hebrews 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
The Broadway is the way of the world or Gentiles who do not know or recognise God because of pleasures of sin. We were once on this wide way before we met Christ for salvation.
1 Peter 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
The Broadway is crooked and self-motivated. It is a path that follows human nature that cannot please God. This Broadway most times looks right but ends in destruction. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Many from the early church walked also in the Broadway due to worldly attractions and that is why we need to be vigilant and correct ourselves while still living and follow the right Narrow way.
Philippians 3:18-19 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Finally brethren, do you know why we must contend to be among the few that will follow the narrow path to the end? In the days of Noah, disobedience and worldly pleasures were the order of the day just as it is now!!! Only eight people were saved despite daily preaching and patience of God.
1 Peter 3:20(NLT) Those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.
❓Are you still with many on the Broadway thinking majority cannot be wrong?
❓Do you compromise Christian standards of living in this world due to worldly pleasure among unbelievers?
Hear the Master Himself in Matthew 24:37-39(NLT)
“When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.
🛑 Jesus Christ taught His Disciples on the Mount and said; narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. You can strive to maintain that narrow path if so desire no matter how few in number of the saints. Just as Jesus found few Christians in Sardis that did not soil their garments, we can also walk worthy of the Lord in this world of sin.
Revelation 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
