Unchangeable Word
Hebrews 13:8-9(NLT) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your spiritual strength comes from God’s special favor, not from ceremonial rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.
Introduction: Glory be to God who has NOT denied us the word of life as Scriptures speak to us.
🙏 I pray that His words will not be a parable unto us in Jesus name.
🤔 During Sunday school lesson where we discussed “Intentional parenting” with the memory verse that says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. I discovered that in training our children in the way of God, methodology may change due to generational differences, BUT the Syllabus (The Word of God) is unchangeable.
❓The question is, can a child trained in the way of the Lord from cradle depart from that way when he/she is old?
🔹 The Word of God says a child trained in the ways of the Lord will not depart from it when he/she is old.
🛑 Saying Yes he/she can depart due to generational methodological changes make the word of God ineffective and calling the truth a lie.
❓What about children of pastors that are wayward and follow evil paths?
▶️ Men are limited to see outward appearances and judge accordingly but God sees the inward, that is why His judgments are faithful and true.
1 Samuel 16:6-7 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’s anointed is before him. But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
🛑 Until we come to realisation that God is true with every iota of His words and every man a liar, we shall continue to be confused when we rely on what man says based on outward appearance.
Romans 3:3-4 (AMP) What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]? By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men].
▶️ I have discovered that the Old-man or Adamic nature in us passes the bulk of fault to God and others for our justification.
👉 Remember act of passing the bulk of fault started from the first man, Adam.
Genesis 3:11-12(NLT) “Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten the fruit I commanded you not to eat?” “Yes,” Adam admitted, “but it was the woman you gave me who brought me the fruit, and I ate it.”
🛑 There is no way a man/woman abides in HIM and he/she will be forsaken by God. I will rather believe totally what God says than what man says.
▶️ This resolution of totally believing His words makes me examine myself anytime I pass through unpleasant situations rather than feeling justified with a sense of entitlement before God by asking “Why me?” I will rather ask for Mercy.
Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
🤔 I discover everytime I read about David why God called him a man after His heart.
❓How many of us in exalted position will receive Nathan’s judgment of “You are the wicked man” and will respond with “I have sinned”
👂Hear David in assessment of himself before God
Psalms 51:4(AMP) Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment.
🛑 God’s word and judgement cannot change. Any attempt to change, manoeuvre or readjust the word of God to suit the generation in which our children live in this world will end in destruction.
▶️ The word of God is light that we MUST walk in; outside the word of God is darkness that consists all evil with accompanying destruction.
John 12:35(MSG) Jesus said, “For a brief time still, the light is among you. Walk by the light you have so darkness doesn’t destroy you. If you walk in darkness, you don’t know where you’re going.
▶️ Walking outside the word of God is automatically walking in darkness without invitation. Absence of light (God’s words) automatically brings darkness.
🤔 I learnt during Sunday school that the latest generation that is succeeding Gen Z is Gen Alpha.
Generation Alpha has been born at a time with access to children’s entertainment increasingly dominated by electronic technology, social networks with AI (Artificial Intelligence ) and streaming services with falling interest in traditional television. I saw little children in Church engrossed with their parent’s phones to watch movies while the parents were seated at the Sunday school. Gen Alpha are likely to be very comfortable with technology from a young age, as they have been exposed to smartphones, tablets, and other digital devices from early childhood.
▶️ As part of training our children, God instructed His children delivered from captivity saying;
Deuteronomy 6:5-7(NLT) And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again.
❓Will technological advancement change God’s instructions to teach our children His words?
🛑 The bitter truth is, a child that is taught both by words and example in the way of the Lord will NOT depart from it when he/she is old.
▶️ Since God is unchangeable, His words remains the same Irrespective of generational changes.
Psalms 102:27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
🛑 Affairs of every generation is directed by God without Compromising His words.
Isaiah 41:4(NLT) Who has done such mighty deeds, directing the affairs of the human race as each new generation marches by? It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last. I alone am he.”
🛑 As generation of Sodom and Gomorrha were destroyed for sexual perversion, so also will generations that commit homosexuality be destroyed.
Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
🛑 Any sons and daughters of Jacob ( that is Born-Again Christians) that maintain the old narrow ways, shall have peace. But any generation that refuses to take the old tried and true paths shall end in disaster.
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jeremiah 6:16(MSG) GOD’s Message yet again: “Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, The tried and true road. Then take it. Discover the right route for your souls. But they said, ‘Nothing doing. We aren’t going that way.’
🛑 Any Christian who disregards the old paths to align with new ways of life in any generation violates God’s instructions.
Deuteronomy 32:7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
🛑 Technology which is permitted by God has brought God’s words that give wisdom from above into the palms of our hands. But the deceiver characteristically makes children of God download what is edifying the Flesh with wisdom of this world that is sensual and devilish than words of God that edify the spirit.
James 3:15(AMP) This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal).
❓Who do we now blame for moral decadence among children of Christians and pastors?
Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
❓Do we intentionally put the lights of God’s words in our children in their receptive years before they encounter gross darkness of this world in the journey of life?
John 12:35(NLT) Jesus replied, ” My light will shine out for you just a little while longer. Walk in it while you can, so you will not stumble when the darkness falls. If you walk in the darkness, you cannot see where you are going.
✍ Finally brethren, word of God does not change Irrespective of generational changes. Do not be distracted or attracted by strange new ideas coming from this world that can NEVER help anyone BUT let us continue to draw strength from the power of His word that has been from the beginning and can NEVER fail.
